LENOIR, N.C. -- The Caldwell County Fire Marshal says the fire that destroyed a Lenoir home Wednesday morning is not considered to be suspicious.
The occupants of the home at 3234 Deerbrook Road called in the fire just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
All four occupants of the house were able to safely escape.
Fire investigators say the one-story, wood-framed home was destroyed, with damages estimated to be about $60,000.
The family was heating the home with a wood stove, officials say, but that's not believed to be related to the cause of the fire.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, although fire investigators do not believe the cause to be suspicious.
