CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Three years after the murder of her 17-year-old son Travis, Helen Moore has no answers. Leads dried up. Interviews ended. The tips have stopped coming in.

"This time of year, it's horrendous," she said.

Moore was a football player and track athlete at West Charlotte High School. He was at a party February 19, 2007 when he was shot dead.

Detective Steven Ladd, of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police homicide division, tells NewsChannel 36 they are confidant that someone at that party knows something, but to date, they've never uncovered the information. Ladd said the case is fairly unusual in that Moore was not engaging in any high-risk behavior around the time he was killed.

"By all accounts, he was a good kid," Ladd said.

Moore says it is heartbreaking that no one has come forward with information, especially since she believes many people may know who killed her son. She is hopeful that time -- and maturity -- will help generate useful tips on this anniversary.
