CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- North Carolina Air National Guard members have been furloughed by the government shutdown.
Dozens showed up for work on Tuesday, only to leave around 11:15 with no idea when they will get their jobs back.
They were closing the office and told NBC Charlotte that all drills had been canceled.
They didn't want to talk on camera but say they are frustrated.
One guard member said he has a mortgage to pay and kids to support, and doesn't know how he will make it unless the shutdown ends soon
