LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- Two teenagers accused of breaking into a Lincoln County home running away have been charged.

Neighbors called police after seeing two suspects break into the home in the 3600 block of Delling Downs Drive Sunday night.

Police say they broke in through a bathroom window and ran into nearby woods once officers arrived.

Deputies found a trail of several items taken from the house during their search. That, along with witness interviews, led them to a mobile home on Grainger Trail in Denver.

Dylan Emmett Scott, 17, was taken into custody there. He is charged with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. He was booked into Harven A. Crouse Detention Center. Scott was also wanted on unrelated warrants.

A 15-year-old male turned himself in on Tuesday. He will be charged as a juvenile.
