CHARLOTTE, N.C. – People who live in the Carmel South Community in south Charlotte are still uneasy as the investigation of the murder of 82-year-old Ida Felman continues.

On Thursday sources told NBC Charlotte that Felman was beaten and died from blunt force trauma.  However, no other details have been released as to whether this was random or domestic, or what the situation was that lead to her attack and her murder.

NBC Charlotte contacted Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on Friday asking for an update, but we were told investigators have nothing new to release.

Family members of Felman have not spoken to the media.  They have decided to keep this a private matter within the family.

Police went door to door starting Wednesday morning, giving neighbors tips on keeping themselves safe in their home.
