CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Just after noon on Wednesday, emergency officials responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-77 involving a motorcycle.
The collision occurred on the southbound side just before exit 16.
One person is being transported to Carolinas Medical Center with injuries officials described as life-threatening.
The southbound lanes of I-77 were closed near Sunset Boulevard for a short period of time, but have since reopened.
The name of the victim has not been released.
