CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person was hurt during a drive-by shooting in southeast Charlotte late Friday morning.
The shooting took place around 11 a.m., near the Exxon gas station next to the intersection of Old Providence and Providence roads, police said.
Two people were inside a car waiting for a woman to join them, police said. When she did, a second white car drove alongside it and demanded the three people exit the car.
When the three victims said they didn't have any money, a person in the white car shot at the other vehicle, hitting a man in the chest.
The man was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. The other two victims in the car were not hit by gunfire, police said.
The name of the victim has not been released at this time.
Police say the white car was seen speeding away from the scene
