Pedestrian hit by car in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A pedestrian was hit by a car in south Charlotte early Thursday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the accident happened at Williams Pond Lane and Rea Road around 6:30 a.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. CMPD are still investigating the accident.

Commuters should take Elm Lane as an alternate route.
