CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A 14-year old boy running away from home was hit and killed by several vehicles Tuesday night, according to police.
The accident happened just after 7 p.m. along East W.T. Harris Boulevard near the intersection of Rocky River Road.
Paramedics pronounced the boy dead on scene.
Police spoke with witnesses and the drivers of the vehicles involved and said that the boy apparently stepped into the roadway when he was struck.
None of the drivers have been charged in relation to the crash but one driver, 33-year-old Francisco Gomez-Castelan, was charged with no operator's license.
