GRANITE FALLS, N.C. -- A pilot managed to land his plane on Highway 321 in Granite Falls Monday night after running out of fuel, according to state troopers.

North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said that just before 10:30 p.m. the single engine plane landed on the highway in the northbound lanes, just north of the Walmart in town.

The pilot was not hurt and neither were any drivers.
