MINT HILL, N.C. -- Police are looking for the joy-riding trespassers who damaged 20 golf carts Tuesday morning at the Pine Lake Country Club.

Just after 5, Mint Hill Police met with an employee at the club in the 5500 block of Lebanon Road to find 20 damaged golf carts.

Police say suspects broke into the cart barn where the golf carts were housed, and took each of them for a reckless joy-ride across country club premises.

The hoodlums wracked up nearly $12,000 in total property damage to the carts themselves, the landscaping on the premises and the cart barn.

All of the golf carts are accounted for.

If you have any information in this case, please contact Detective Lezette with the Mint Hill Police Department (704) 545-1085
