CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A Connelly Springs man is behind bars after selling methamphetamine to an undercover officer, officials say.

Billy Dean Potter, 27, was arrested on Tuesday by the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Alan C. Jones say Potter sold more than a quarter-ounce of meth to an undercover ICE agent in Lenoir. Potter was immediately taken into custody.

Authorities say Potter was also in possession of digital scales and other paraphernalia.

Potter is charged with one count each of felonious possession with intent to sell/deliver methamphetamine, felonious sell and deliver methamphetamine, felonious maintain a vehicle to keep/store a controlled substance and misdemeanor hit and run.

The street value of the drugs, according to the Sheriff's Office, is $1200.

Potter's bonds total $77,000.
