BURKE COUNTY, N.C. -- A man is facing child abuse charges for allegedly spanking a 23-month-old, leaving bruises all over her body.
Cody Chadwell was arrested on Sunday. He is the boyfriend of the child's mother.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office said Chadwell admitted to spanking the child because he was stressed out about an upcoming court appearance.
The 23-month-old girl was treated at Carolinas Medical Center.
