FORT MILL, S.C. -- The York County Sheriff's Department SWAT Team was involved in a standoff in Fort Mill that lasted almost five hours Tuesday.

Deputies say a man barricaded himself inside a trailer on First Street around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.

His wife called 911, allegedly complaining about a domestic situation. She got out of the home before it became a standoff.

The suspect peacefully surrendered around 5:30. His name will be released if he is charged.

Deputies think the man was armed with a gun, but no one was hurt.

Deputies worked throughout the standoff to make sure it ended peacefully.

"We’re just trying to talk to him, trying to link up that line of communications to talk to him. There are no criminal charges against him, but all we want is to talk to him," said Trent Faris, spokesman for the department.

No one was evacuated during the situation.
