CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Florida-based Publix Super Markets continued its advance into North Carolina with the announcement Monday that the company has leased office space for its Charlotte division headquarters.
The company will lease 15,603 square feet of office space at Two Lakepointe Plaza, off West Tyvola Road near Renaissance Park.
Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, which represented Publix in the negotiations, announced the lease.
Publix is building two Charlotte stores, one in Ballantyne and one in South End. Merchants in the Magnolia Plaza shopping center in Cornelius have said they’ve been told by their landlord that they must move for another Publix location, but the grocer hasn’t confirmed the new store there yet.
The company had previously said it was planning to open a locally-based Charlotte division, and Publix plans to continue expanding with more locations across the state.
