CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Animal Control officers have captured one of two rams that have been running around northwest Charlotte neighborhoods for the past 24 hours.

They picked up the smaller of the two rams Thursday afternoon after it stopped traffic on Interstate 485. The animals had already destroyed several yards and even managed to find their way into a lake.

Animal Control does not know where the two rams came from.

The captive ram will be considered a stray for the next 72 hours. If no one claims it, the ram will be put up for auction.

Animal Control asks if you spot the larger ram -- which was tranquilized but did not seem to be affected -- to please call police.
