CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Several shots were fired into a condo community in east Charlotte early Friday morning.
"I was sleep and then I heard those shots, a lot of them," said Pamela Burris from her living room where police dug one bullet from her wall. "My boyfriend was sitting there on the computer when it started and a bullet also hit him."
A bullet also hit Burris' green Toyota Camry and she called 911 to report hearing approximately seven gunshots in the area around 5:30 a.m. near the Windsor Grove condos on Windsor Gate Lane, off East W.T. Harris Boulevard.
But neighbors on street Friday morning said they heard as many as 40 gunshots fired.
"It was 45 shots from three guns--a 44 and a 9 millimeter," said one man who did not want to be identified.
In all, five condos were hit by gunfire, as well as one car.
Police detectives declined to speak on the shootings, only to say they were investigating.
There are no reported injuries from the shooting. One person was placed in custody at the scene but police said his arrest was not directly related to the morning shootings.
"The violence needs to stop," said Burris.
