STATESVILLE, N.C. -- A Statesville man is accused of slicing three women with a box cutter.

Statesville Police say 24-year-old Tywan Lapree Summers attacked three women with a box cutter at a home in the 1000 block of Knox Avenue on Monday night.

According to officials, Summers approached the women while they were outside talking and began to harass them. The women asked Summers to leave, and a short time later he returned armed with the box cutter.

Police say Summers approached one of the women, grabbed her by the head and cut her. The other two women attempted to help their friend, and were cut during the struggle.

The three victims were able to flee Summers, who reportedly continued to threaten them.

All three women received non-life threatening injuries, and are at home recovering.

Summers was arrested at his home on Park Drive without incident.

He's charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats and second-degree trespassing.

Summers was booked in to the Iredell County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
