MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- A new social media platform is changing the way some companies are doing business.

Some companies are using Vine to promote their brand and create interest in their products.  Vine is a mobile app that allows users to create and share in six second video loops.

That video can then be uploaded to other social networking sites like Twitter.  Mooresville based Lowe's has just launched a very creative vine campaign.

The home improvement store has created 10 Vines, each sharing a different, simple home improvement tip.  It's part of their Fix in Six campaign, and judging by the comments on their Vine and twitter page, the videos are a hit.

Lowe's isn't the only company branching out on vine.  Sports teams like the Pittsburgh Penguins promote their brand with Vine and so does clothing retailer, the Gap.

Locally, NoDa Brewing Company is making waves with Vine, The brewery uses Vine to show customers how the craft brew process works.

Lowes social marketing guru, Brad Walters, says expect to see more of these advertising campaigns.

"It was really necessary for Lowe's to get to a point to where they can build those social communities up and communicate with customers sort of the way customers are expecting to be engaging in brands these days," he said.
