CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- SouthPark Mall restaurants and anchor stores re-opened Saturday morning after a partial roof collapse Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews evacuated the mall around 5 p.m. and there were no reported injuries, according to Medic.
Images from inside the mall showed a couple inches of water on the floor. There were also reported vehicles that were flooded at the SouthPark Mall parking lot.
Emergency officials closed the mall and continue to assess the damage of the flooding.

- Dick's Sporting Goods
- Macy's
- Dillard's
- Belk
- Neiman Marcus
- Nordstrom
- Container Store
Access to the main portions of the mall will remain closed. Restaurants at and near the mall also re-opened Saturday for business including:
- Maggiano's
- Cheesecake Factory
- Californa Pizza Kitchen
- City Tavern
- McCormick & Schmick's
The Village at SouthPark stores including Crate & Barrel, adjacent to the mall, have not been impacted by the flooding and are open.
AirStar 36 flew over the mall and two large holes could be seen in the roof.
According to the Charlotte Fire Department, the roof collapsed over the Gap Kids and Banana Republic stores. The collapse also broke pipes and sprinkler systems, causing flooding inside the mall.
In a statement sent to NewsChannel 36 SouthPark Mall officials stated:
"This afternoon, roof damage occurred at SouthPark in Charlotte resulting in flooding in some areas of the mall. SouthPark is currently closed and will remain closed this evening. We are working closely with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Fire and Police Department who are investigating, and we would refer all inquiries to them."
Fire officials said the department stores did not sustain any serious damage.
A damage estimate was not available Friday night.
The First Warn Storm Team said more than two inches of rain fell in less than an hour in parts of south Charlotte.
