CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Rain poured on the opening night of Taste of Charlotte but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit— or appetite.
Storms forced the even to shut down 45 minutes early Friday night.
Carrie Griffin with Taste of Charlotte said some people tried to outlast the storm. She said many people ducked in and out of nearby shops and restaurants to get out the rain.
Many people were already back in Uptown by Saturday morning waiting for Taste of Charlotte to start again. The event is slated to run as usual throughout the rest of the weekend. Admission is free. Dozens of local restaurants will be serving food.
