CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A lot of good people live in Enderly Park, located off Freedom Drive in West Charlotte. But the area has been plagued by drugs for years.
"We're sending a message that we're very active in the neighborhood," said Lt. Blake Hollar of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Metro Division.
Friday morning, CMPD and DEA agents arrested nine men and a woman who were indicted by a federal grand jury.
The woman picked up was 70-year-old Mary Falls, a grandmother who lives in a house on Karendale Avenue.
"She don't know what's going on, she really don't. If anybody is innocent to this she don't know if them boys did anything," said Falls' daughter, who did not want to be identified.
Police said they have talked to Mrs. Falls on many occasions and these problems go back more than 10 years. She has been charged with maintaining a drug-involved premises.
Neighborhood complaints sparked this investigation which began in June.
"It got to the point on many occasions they couldn't drive down Karendale because of this group," said Lt. Hollar.
If Falls is convicted she faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison and a $500,000 fine.
