CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte's annual barbecue festival has a new name “The Q-City Charlotte BBQ Championship” is now underway on Tryon Street in uptown Charlotte.
The festival is formerly called the "Blues, Brews, and Barbecue". The event is billed as the largest barbecue competition in the southeast.
More than 30 professional barbecue teams will compete this year. There will also be craft beer vendors and music on two stages.
The Q-City Charlotte barbecue championship runs Friday until 11 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.
