GASTONIA, N.C. – Thieves hit up a Gastonia church Easter weekend.

Saint Micheal's Catholic Church reported about $500 worth of items stolen from the front stoop of its thrift store on York Street.

A witness says someone in a pickup truck loaded up all of the items and took off.  The pastor tells NBC Charlotte it’s not the first time thieves have targeted the store.

"It's sad that they -- that someone would not just call if they needed it. We would have assisted them. If they could have waited, or called our emergency number for needs like that,"  said Pastor Roger Arnsparger.

So far, no arrests have been made.
