Gastonia police are trying to find the person who stole 3,000 gallons of gasoline from the Omni Mart located at 3343 Union Rd. The gas has a value of about $10,000.

Investigators think the theft began on the tenth of June and was not discovered until Monday.

"What is that going to do for them? They have to replace that as a business, so it's going to hurt them, that's for sure," said Robert Miller, a Gastonia resident.

The store has a camera system, but it was not working at them time. It has since been repaired.

Andrew Merritt sympathizes with the owner.

"Yeah I've bought gas here a few times. I work down the street so I come in here for Red Bull more often than anything," said Merritt.

The owner declined to talk to NBC Charlotte. Police don't have any suspects in the case.
