CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- SouthPark Mall saw a lot more foot traffic than normal Tuesday.
More than 2,000 people showed up for the Ignite Spring Job Fair. Dozens of companies like Carolinas Healthcare System, T.J. Maxx, Ascension, Robert Half and Accountemps were on hand to meet and speak to possible hires, and in many cases the news was positive.
"You'd pretty much find anybody you're looking for today, and it's been a steady flow," said one recruiter. "There's a lot more people saying we have availability."
Nicole Crocker drove more than 600 miles south to attend the job fair.
"We came down specifically for this job fair," said Crocker, who drove from Binghamton, N.Y.
Crocker currently works at a bank in her hometown, but explained that she and her fiance want to relocate to Charlotte, so they made the drive to get a possible lead on employment.
"It's going good," she said.
The job fair was organized by LocalJobs.com.
