WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. -- The sheriff’s office is investigating two deaths in Watauga County.

Deputies responded to the scene in Deep Gap in the 4700 block of Wildwood Drive around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Police entered the two-story home to find both people, a man and woman in their mid to late 50s or early 60s, unresponsive. They were declared dead at the home.

Investigators then began processing the scene. They first began searching for a white vehicle, which neighbors say is normally parked at the residence. Deputies cancelled the search once discovering the vehicle had been taken to a local shop for routine repairs.

The nature of their deaths is unknown. Police say they are not seeking suspects or persons of interest.
