GASTONIA, N.C. -- Two people escaped with non-life-threatening injuries when their car struck a tree in Gaston County.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday on Chapel Grove School Road near Hickory Creek Drive.

Crowder’s Mountain firefighters say the car overturned after hitting the tree, trapping both people inside.

Once removed, they were taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
