CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A house fire forced a Charlotte family out of their home early Monday morning.
The fire happened on St. John Street in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood around 2 a.m. Monday.
Two people were inside the home when a fire started on their porch.
They were able to escape without being hurt, and the fire department helped save their two dogs and two cats.
Investigators say damage estimates are about $20,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
