ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Rock Hill police located the family of a 2-year-old boy wandering alone in a diaper Monday morning.
Sanitation workers found the boy near South Jones Avenue and Rockwood Drive, three blocks away from his babysitter’s house
Officers went door-to-door in the neighborhood looking for more information. The babysitter told police the boy slept on the couch as she was doing laundry. When she noticed he wasn’t there, she assumed he went to another room.
Neighbors gave the boy clothes as officers searched for his family.
Two hours after the sitter noticed the child missing from the couch, his grandmother saw media reports with her grandson’s photo and called police.
The boy was not hurt. The child’s grandmother and mother arrived to pick up the boy shortly after police found him.
