CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A power outage near one of US Airways' data centers in Phoenix has grounded or delayed numerous flights nationwide.

Officials at the Tempe-based carrier said they couldn't immediately say how many flights or passengers were affected.

They said the computer systems outage impacted its website and airport computer systems but did say some computer systems were coming back online Friday evening.

Officials with the airline did not have any information on when the outage occurred or what caused it or when the problem would be completely resolved.

NewsChannel 36 was at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport Friday evening but the airline's computers were running normally. Over two dozen US Airways flights had been delayed but all passengers were expected to reach their destinations by the end of the night.

The airline wants customers to check their flight status before arriving at the airport by calling US Airways Reservations at 1-800-428-4322.
