CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are trying to find vandals who are targeting several north Charlotte car businesses.

Sometime between Monday and Tuesday night they smashed in car windows at Mallard Creek Imports, JSG Automotive and BCH Imports. All of the businesses share a lot at 6910 Old Statesville Rd.

"It's tough. It's not just our customer’s car. It feels like an invasion on ourselves as well," said Sharon Gravely of JSG.

She co-owns the Mercedes repair shop along with her husband. They have been in business for nine years.

"My husband worked for the Mercedes dealership for about 18 years. He was young enough to try to get out on his own so he did," she said.

To have this crime happen once would be bad enough, but this is the third time vandals have targeted the businesses.

Each time the owners have no choice, but to eat the cost and pay for the damages out of pocket.

Gravely showed NBC Charlotte a spider crack in a windshield of a Benz.

"It's going to cost me $600," she said.

She adds a few repairs like that one, and the shop is in the red for the week.

"We’re offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest."

The vandals hit in December and April, in addition to this week.
