CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A car fire caused major delays on I-85 Friday morning.
The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on I-85 south near City Boulevard.

The Charlotte Fire Department quickly put out the fire, but the incident backed up traffic for several miles on I-85 south.
There were no reported injuries during the time of the fire. All lanes are back open and traffic is moving again in the area.
