CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The sun and warm temperatures have returned for Thursday.
Today will be mostly sunny and warm with temperatures climbing to around 80.
"Today will real nice in the Charlotte area," forecaster Larry Sprinkle said. "Temperatures will return to what is expected for May."
Temperatures will stay in the mid 70s or 80s through the weekend, and then they'll drop into the high 60s for next week.
Tonight will be partly cloudy with areas of fog developing by morning. Lows in the mid to upper 50s.
There is still a very slight chance of an isolated thunderstorms for Friday. The chance of rain is 20 percent.
"The weekend we'll see warm temperatures with a small chance of thunderstorms on Friday," Sprinkle said. "But for most of the weekend it should be nice for our area."
