MONROE, N.C. -- Thousands are spending part of their day enjoying the sights, sounds and fun at the annual Warbirds over Monroe air show.
The show, held at the Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport, has become "a must see attraction for people all around," said Peter Hovanec of the City of the Monroe. "We'll have lots of exhibits, plane and even explosives."
"More than a half dozen vintage planes will fly maneuvers over the airport and on the ground. There are exhibits and activities for the whole family,” said Hovanec.
Part of the event is a drill team competition involving five area high schools.
