CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The warm weather from this weekend has given way to cold and wet weather for Monday.
Light rain has moved into the area and will hang around for most of today. Highs will struggle up to near a chilly 50°.

"The difference from today will be the temperatures," forecaster Larry Sprinkle said. "We'll have light rain showers and cooler temperatures for today."
The rain chance increases this evening around 6 p.m. Heavy rain is expected to move in around 11 p.m. staying until early tomorrow morning.

"The heavy rainfall will be late this evening and into the early morning around 3 a.m.," Sprinkle said. "The rain will push out later in the morning toward the coast."
Clouds will decrease during the day Tuesday. Highs will climb back into the low and mid-60s, according to the First Warn Storm Team.
Wednesday is the first official day of spring, but highs will be in the cooler mid- to upper 50s. We'll stay in the mid-50s Thursday with increasing clouds and a chance for rain Friday into the weekend.
