CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A water pipe burst at the Charlotte Douglas Airport Wednesday morning causing problems in one concourse.
A water pipe that is part of the sprinkler system burst in Concourse E. Airport maintenance and the fire department responded and were able to fix the broken pipe.
Concourse E remained open and operational. The incident was confined the gate 4 area, according to a airport official.
The pipe was capped and water cleared out, an airport official said. Crews are looking into the pipe burst is related to the cold temperatures.
