TERRELL, N.C. -- Catawba County emergency crews rescued a man that was trapped in a bulldozer at the Marshall Steam Plant Wednesday morning.

Authorities received a call around 6:15 a.m. of a trapped worker after his bulldozer fell in a hole where they put coal.

Emergency crews were able to lower a ladder down and free the worker without him suffering any serious injuries.

Marshall Steam Plant is run by Duke Energy and is a  four-unit, coal-fired generating facility located in Catawba County.

One of the largest coal facilities owned by Duke Energy, Marshall generates enough electricity to power approximately two million homes.
