CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- An accident with injuries brought Interstate 77 to a halt in south Charlotte on Monday morning.
The wreck took place around 6:15 a.m. near Clanton Road on the right-side southbound lanes of I-77. Two lanes were closed for about an hour while crews cleared the scene.
Two ambulances responded, and three people were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
All lanes reopened around 7 a.m. But traffic is backed up about three miles, with heavy delays at the Morehead Street intersection in uptown Charlotte.
