FORT MILL, S.C. -- If you’re looking for a great way to get outdoors and see firsthand where your food comes from this weekend is the annual “Ag and Art Tour” in York and Chester Counties.
There are more than 20 local farms open for free tours this weekend. You can bring the kids to see animals, crops, bees and be joined by local artists and musicians at various farms.
The 11-county farm tour started six years ago in York county as a way to show the public more about the state’s two biggest industries…
“Having the ag and art tour not only gives the farms themselves the opportunity to engage in agri-tourism and maybe generate another revenue stream, but it also gives the public and visitors traveling to the area an opportunity to get back to nature and see things they won’t experience at other times in their lives,” said Strauss Moore Shiple, of the direct tourism commission.
The tour continues in York and Chester counties Sunday before it continues to move throughout South Carolina.
