AT&T users affected by 911 outage, CFD says

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Fire says 911 operators are unable to receive calls from AT&T cell phone users Wednesday night.

According to Conover Fire, AT&T is experiencing a widespread outage that is affecting 911 calls.

Charlotte Fire says in the case of an emergency, call 704-336-2441 when 911 doesn't work.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management also recommends AT&T users to call 704-336-2343 for all emergency services.

AT&T tweeted Wednesday night acknowledging the issue. The phone company tweeted again at 10:30 p.m. ET, saying the issue has been resolved.
