CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The first surge of heavy rain has finally pushed east along with the tornado threat, but there is another squall line forming to our west that will be heading our way later this evening.

This line will likely contain some gusty straight line winds and or small hail. Conditions will slowly improve overnight.
The winds will remain high and may actually increase as the deep low pressure moves away strong high pressure builds in. This will cause our winds to swing from the south to the west over night between 15-25 mph with gust as high at 30.
Temperatures will be mild overnight in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees.
Thursday will be pleasant with temperatures in the low 60s. Much cooler weather is in store for Friday as the mercury only hits the low 50s.
It's still early, but there is the potential for some wet snow as far south as Charlotte early Saturday with heavier snow expected in the mountains. There still could be lots of changes and even the slightest deviation in the storm's track or depth of the cold air could change the forecast dramatically.
