Child hospitalized after nearly drowning in south Charlotte

A child is hospitalized after a possible drowning call in south Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Paramedics responded to a call for a near-drowning in south Charlotte Wednesday afternoon.

A YMCA spokesperson tells NBC Charlotte lifeguards pulled a two-year-old girl out of the water at the Morrison YMCA.

The girl's mother was also on scene during the incident.

The YMCA says the child was alert and breathing as she was transported to the hospital. She did not need CPR, according to the YMCA.
