Bicyclist hit by security car

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A bicyclist has life-threatening injuries after being struck by a security patrol car Monday morning.

The incident occurred early Monday morning in south Charlotte, causing a section of Randolph Road between Sharon Amity and Sardis to shut down.

According to information gathered on scene, the driver of a security company car called 'Guard One' struck the bicyclist. A massive indentation and cracked windshield of the security car conveyed where the impact occurred.

A supervisor at Guard One told NBC Charlotte the driver was on street patrol.
