Boston firefighters bring the heat

Boston firefighters release eagerly anticipated 2017 calendar to raise money for Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation. NECN's Jackie Bruno reports.

(NECN)  The 2017 Boston Firefighters Calendar has been released. It costs $20 and 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation, a non-profit that provides emotional and financial support to burn victims and their families.

Elliot Chefitz is a firefighter at Engine 41 in Allston. He told us he jumped at the opportunity to be in the calendar because of the cause.

"We help raise money to keep families close while they're rehabbing. It takes a really long time to rehab burns, so we pay for a lot of the expenses they incur," Chefitz says.

Jack Giordano said a recent break-up helped him shed some pounds. "I got out of a relationship, hit the treadmill and the weights. When my buddy didn't want to do the calendar, I was like 'let's go for it'" Giordano says.
