Student taken to hospital after school bus antifreeze leak

During the month of August it was NBC Charlotte's goal to fill Gaston County's Nissan truck with school supplies - Friday the supplies were delivered.

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. -- A Cabarrus County school bus transporting 22 students was evacuated Friday morning after an antifreeze leak.

According to the Cabarrus County School, the bus was on its way to Griffen Middle School when the leak occurred.

The bus was pulled over, evacuated and emergency responders arrived on scene.

One student was transported to the hospital for feeling nauseated.

The 210 Sightliner bus, a newer school bus model, will be examined to determine how the malfunction began.

The school supplied another school bus where the other 21 students were taken to Griffen Middle School.
