Man dies after shooting in east Charlotte front yard

A man was found shot dead by police and now CMPD is investigating the scene for evidence and eyewitnesses.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a homicide after a 31-year-old man was killed following a shooting in east Charlotte Wednesday night.

Police were called to the 4000 block of Uppergate Lane around 7:30 p.m. after a caller stated a man had been shot.

NBC Charlotte's crew on the scene reported an argument took place and then shots were fired.

Upon arrival, officers found Alvara Lisandro Morales with gunshot wounds lying in the front yard of a residence. CMPD said he was shot multiple times while visiting people at the shooting's location. He was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic

Police consider the case an ongoing, active investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS.
