CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Friends remember David Lindsay as more than a barber.
"The Picasso of barbering," said Jermaine Johnson, David's mentor and coworker at No Grease barbershop. "We lost a beautiful soul."
On Tuesday, June 20th, CMPD officers responded to a 911 call for a shooting in the 4600 block of Eastwycke Place just after 11 p.m. When officers reached the scene, investigators said they found Lindsay, sitting in the front seat of a vehicle with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced Lindsay dead at the scene.
On Sunday evening, friends and family gathered for a vigil to honor the fallen barber.
"I can't even pick up my clippers," said one Lindsay's mentees.
CMPD says the investigation is ongoing as they search for the person responsible for killing David Lindsay.
