Cyclist dies days after crash with vehicle

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A cyclist who was involved in an accident with a vehicle Sunday has died.

According to CMPD, 60-year-old Sonny Locklear was cycling along Scott Futrell Drive.

The driver of a Chevrolet, 54-year-old Sheila Louis Glover, entered Scott Futrell Drive from Interstate Trailer Park Drive. 

As Locklear entered the roadway, he struck the right rear quarter panel area of the Chevrolet, CMPD says. He died Monday as a result of his injuries from the crash, officials say.

Locklear wasn't wearing reflective gear or a helmet at the time of the crash, officials say.
