Man claims construction caused home to crack

A pipe project is sparking some buzz.

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A construction project in Iredell County has generated some figurative buzz with the literal noise and ground-shaking effects caused by drilling.

"I am not going to let them destroy my property," said Jose Delgado who lives in a hill above the construction with his family and nearly 25 farm animals.

Delgado enjoys the farm life but he does not enjoy his farm's newest feature.

"The doors and windows [are] vibrating," he said.

Delgado has lived in the house for five years but he said the shaking just started two weeks ago, around the same time PSNC Energy started a new project outside his home.

"The is the structural damage," he said while pointing to his garage. He estimated that it will cost $50,000 to repair.

The construction project is a big job, one that could take months to complete.

NBC Charlotte reached out to PSNC Energy about the issue, we are still waiting for a response.
